If you love to shop, Ala Moana Shopping Center is a must for your time here on Oahu. Experience the open air and Hawaiian breeze as you shop your favorite brands. The mall features 350 shops, ranging from departments stores to first-class boutiques. All that shopping will certainly work up an appetite. Not to worry, there are 160 different dinning options to choose from. The Ala Moana Shopping Center is located just one mile from Central Waikiki, making it an easy commute. Our preferred transportation is a bike or moped from GoGo Rental.

Stores

Ala Moana is home to many of the brands you are already familiar with, but they also have a variety of local brands. Brands such as Local Motion, HIC, Kahala, and T&C Surf Designs, just to name a few. If you're looking to pickup souvenirs for family and friends this is a great place to do it.

Concourse

The open air concourse makes Ala Moana Shopping Center a great place for window shopping. There are several koi ponds, water fountains and various plants making this a very tranquil place. Yes, we said it. This mall can be tranquil. The common space also features a play area for children.

Parking

Parking can be a challenge virtually everywhere on Oahu. Luckily, Ala Moana Shopping Center is not one of those place. Here you'll find multiple parking garages with multiple levels of parking. The only problem you may face is remembering where you parked your car. As always, taking a bike or moped is a great way to skip any parking worries as there are designated parking areas for bikes, mopeds, and motorcycles. All of these spots will also have a place for you to lock up your ride.

Drinks and Tapas

There's no shortage of great dinning options here at Ala Moana. Mai Tai's has been one of our go to spots for some time now. You'll find Mai Tai's in the center of the 4th floor. Our favorite thing about this place is the atmosphere. Open air, many couches and comfortable chairs for seating, as well as live music make Mai Tai's a place you can loose track of time. Their menu features a great selection of craft cocktails, local and domestic draft beer, as well as appetizers, plate lunches, burgers, sandwiches, and tacos to choose from. The prices here are about average for comparable restaurants. Most items coming in under $20. Specialty cocktails are starting at $9 and beers start at $6 for a pint.
