The Perfect Ride

The Brunsdale bike path is one of our favorite places to ride in Fargo/Moorhead.  The path is a great distance at 6.3 miles. It travels through a quiet residential neighborhood of Fargo and ends at the Rose Creek Golf Course.  There are several places to stop along the way. Making the Brunsdale Bike Path a perfect place to ride for an entire afternoon.  What are you waiting for?  Pick up some bike rentals and enjoy the ride!

Around the Path

The path here at Brunsdale is down and back style ride.  You'll start your ride at the corner of I94 and 25th St S.  The path heads straight south from there.  You should expect to see a few other walkers or bikers while riding, but it is rarely busy.  The path is new and very wide so there is plenty of room to pass or to let oncoming traffic go by.  The entire ride will end up being just over 6 miles and likely take around an hour and a half.  There are several parks to stop at along the way.  Looking for a little less leisure and a little more workout?  Get your cardio and a strength workout!  There are several body weight and resistance machines just off the path.

This path lends itself nicely to all of our rental bikes.  On this ride I chose the Bintelli step through electric bike. This option offers one of the most comfortable rides of our fleet.  You can also choose your level of electric assistance, or turn the assistance off to get more of a workout. We recommend pairing your rental bike with a bike rack.  The rack slides into the receiver hitch of your vehicle and makes loading and unloading a breeze.

There are a couple different options for parking.  On this trip, I chose to park near Doolittles Grill.  The trail head starts just on the north side of this parking lot.  You can also head a few blocks south to Brunsdale park and start your ride from here.  This will also cut about a mile off your bike ride.

Plan to spend at least a couple hours out on the path.  The bike path is mostly covered with trees, but there are a few areas that offer no shade. There are a few amenities to know about before your ride.  At Brunsdale park you'll find baseball fields, pickleball courts, a batting cage, picnic tables and shelter, playground, recreational trails, restrooms and a StoryWalk.  A little further south on the path you'll also notice a bike tune station.  If you do experience a breakdown of some sort, you can repair your bike at the station and get back on the path!
