Red River Bike Trails
Nestled right along the Red River you'll find miles of trails that twist and turn through area parks. Not only are there miles of paved and maintain bike trails, but you'll also find plenty of places to stop along the way. Whether you're looking for some green space, a shady tree, or maybe some history at the Hjemkomst Center. These trails are sure to keep you entertained for your entire ride.
Horizon Shores Park
Horizon Shores Park is a quiet park located in right on the edge of east Moorhead. It's paved paths offer some great bike riding opportunities. This ride comes in at a little under 2 miles. Our bike rentals are a great way to explore the entire park in just a short period of time.
M.B. Johnson Park - Mountain Bike Trails
Looking for a little adventure in the Fargo/Moorhead area? Then check out the mountain biking trails at MB Johnson Park. Ride through these winding trails along the Red River.
M.B. Johnson Park - Paved Trails
MB Johnson Park in northeast Moorhead has some fantastic paved walking and biking trails. These trails go through the woods and open prairie, offering some diverse scenery. That's not all the park has to offer. You'll also find mountain biking, a playground, boat landing and more!
Country Campground
Country Campground near Detroit Lakes offers a great place for family camping. They have indoor and outdoor facilities to accommodate your every need. You'll find a game room, playground, shady lots, and lake access just to name a few of the highlights. This campground is clean and very well kept. Campsites offer full hookups as well as 30 cable channels and wifi! You will enjoy every bit of time spent here at Country Campground.
American Legion Campground
Located just steps from the beach in Detroit Lakes, you'll find the American Legion Campground. If you're looking to camp near all the bars and restaurants in Detroit Lakes this is the spot for you! The grounds are nice and quiet. Most of the campsites here are reserved for those who plan to spend the season, but there are plenty of short term rental campsite available. They refer to these sites as transient sites.
Buffalo River State Park
Just a few miles east of Glyndon Minnesota you'll find this quiet, state run campground. Buffalo River State Park is a perfect place to get away if you're looking for a quick weekend retreat. Enjoy the large camping spots, park, swimming hole, as well as miles of hiking trails.
Wagner Campground
Just south of I94, on the north side of Barnesville Minnesota is where you'll find Wagner Campground. This campground features full hookups as well as rustic camping sites. There are plenty of amenities to make your stay comfortable. Enjoy the well maintained green space and mature trees. Take a short walk to Blue Eagle Lake where you'll find a swimming beach, fishing pier, playground, and picnic areas.
Bleachers
So, you're looking for a place to eat in the Detroit Lakes area but want to stay away from busy West Lake Drive? We've got you covered. Head just a few miles south to Bleachers. This local hangout has great food, drinks, patio, and an amazing view of Deadshot Lake.
Bad Medicine Resort & Campground
Bad Medicine Lake is known for it's crystal clear waters and Rainbow Trout. Each year, hundreds of anglers make the trip to Bad Medicine Lake in hopes of catching these trout. Nestled among the pine trees on the east side of the lake you'll find Bad Medicine Resort & Campground. The most unique amenity of this campground is the Chapel, where service is held from Memorial Day Weekend through September at 11 am.
Big Pines RV Resort
Big Pines is located on the Fish Hook River, just inside Park Rapids city limits. This resort is one of the best kept campgrounds you'll find with an ideal location. The resort is littered with beautiful Norwegian Pines. Enjoy all this resort has to offer! Hiking, bike paths, swimming and fishing.
Elk Horn Resort & Campground
Elk Horn Resort & Campground is a family run campground located on South Twin Lake. This resort is home to 80 RV sites and a beautiful beach. It's also close to a casino, golf course, ATV trails, and Itasca State Park.
Little Boy Resort & Campground
Little Boy Resort and Campground is located 30 miles south east of Walker, MN on Little Boy Lake. The lake is around 1,400 acres and also provides access to near by Wabedo Lake. This resort is a mix of seasonal and nightly campsites with plenty of activities and recreation to choose from.
Gulch Lake Campground
Gulch Lake Campground is a small campground located in the Paul Bunyan State forest. This state forrest encompasses over 105,000 acres and is home to hundreds of miles of trails. The campground is surrounded by a cluster of small lakes. If you're planning on visiting Itasca State Park, consider Gulch Lake Campground as a quiet alternative to the campground of Itasca.
Mantrap Lake Campground
Mantrap Lake Campground is located in the Paul Bunyan State Forest and managed by Itasca State Park. Just 15 miles north of Park Rapids, this campground gives the feeling of seclusion while still being close to so many bars, restaurants, and activities. This campground is comprised of primitive only campsites, so there are no electric or water hookups.

Stony Point Campground
Stony Point is located just a few miles east of Cass Lake. It sits right on the north side of highway 2, between Cass Lake and Pike Bay. It has been a family run campground since 1939. All that time invested has paid off. This is one of those campgrounds that you could spend a week at and not get bored.
Vagabond Village Campground
Vagabond Village is located on Potato Lake, just 9 miles north of Park Rapids. The lake is known for it's walleye and northern pike fishing. This campground has plenty of amenities including an outdoor swimming pool. You'll be impressed with the large campsites and well kept grounds.
Brygge
Brygge, in uptown Detroit Lakes is known for their unique twist on burgers and sandwiches. This is one place you don't have to worry about leaving hungry from. You can expect low wait times and fast service. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating with an outdoor fireplace.
Dunton Locks Bike Trails
Enjoy riding this paved path through the wilderness. This bike path is perfect for those who'd like to go on a bike ride near our Detroit Lakes Beach Store. This ride is great for riders of all skill levels.

NORTH DAKOTA
Jamestown Reservoir Trail
Located right next to the Jamestown Reservoir are miles of trails, perfect for a mountain biking adventure. Enjoy the view and the ride! The trails carve through prairie tops down to wooded shore lines. These are some of North Dakota's best biking trails. They range from easy to hard, so whether you're looking for a relaxing ride or a heart pumping workout you'll be sure to find a trail for you.
Island Park Loop
Located just south of Downtown Fargo you'll find Island Park. This quiet little park is a great place bike ride. The mature trees offer shade from the sun and the paved trails make for pleasant riding. Being just a few blocks from downtown also makes it a perfect spot for a ride before or after lunch.
Trollwood Park
Located near the Edgewood Golf course in North Fargo you'll discover Trollwood Park. Trollwood is a quiet little park which boarders the Rid River. It features a 1 mile paved loop for bikers and walkers, as well as a few other trails that cut through the loop.
Eagle Run Park
This biking path takes you on a 1.1 mile out and back style ride around a man made pond in West Fargo. The path winds through a quiet residential neighborhood.
Rabanus North Loop
Just south of West Acres Mall you'll find a diverse set of trails in Rabanus Park. Not only does it provide a great biking opportunity, but you'll also find that there are many other amenities that make Rabanus park worth the stop.
Rendezvous Park Loop
Located in West Fargo, Rendezvous Park offers one of the nicest bike paths in the area. The wide, newly paved path is perfect for a cruise. The path travels around a man made pond and small waterfall. There is plenty of green space and other activities at the park as well.
Brunsdale Park
The Brunsdale bike path is one of our favorite places to ride in Fargo/Moorhead. The path is a great distance at 6.3 miles. It travels through a quiet residential of Fargo and ends at the Rose Creek Golf Course. There are several places to stop along the way. Making the Brunsdale Bike Path a perfect place to ride for an entire afternoon.
Jorgen's Hollow Campground
Just 45 miles southwest of Fargo you'll find Jorgen's Hallow Campground. This campground is perfect for anyone who wants to do some primitive camping while surrounded by the Sheyenne National Grasslands. If you consider yourself an outdoorsman, this campground will have plenty to explore. There are trailheads located at the campground as well as plenty of public land hunting opportunities if you visit during the fall months.
Sheyenne Oaks Campground
Located 45 miles southwest of Fargo, you'll find Sheyenne Oaks Campground. Sheyenne Oaks is nestled into the Sheyenne Grasslands. Offering 70,000 acres of federal land which offers many recreational opportunities. One of the more unique offerings of this campground, are the horse corrals available for rent.
Hankinson Hills Campground
If you venture just a few miles east of Hankinson, North Dakota you'll find the Hankinson Hills Campground. There are 15 campsites available here. Of these 15 sites, 6 allow visitors to bring horses. Not only does Hankinson Hills offer some great primitive camping, but you'll also find many recreational opportunities in the Sheyenne National Grasslands that surround this camping area.
Oak Leaf Loop Trail
Oak Leaf Loop Trail is a relatively low intensity mountain bike ride through the scenic Sheyenne Grasslands. Located near Leonard, North Dakota, this trial is just a 45 minute drive from Fargo. If you enjoy being out in nature, you'll love riding these gravel trails as they travel in and out of oak patches. This trail is not heavily trafficked, so take the time to enjoy these peaceful plains.
Hankinson Hills Trail
Hankinson Hills Trail is located in the rolling sand hills, NW of Hankinson, North Dakota. This trail is not for the faint of heart. Although the trail may not appear very difficult, the sand makes for some very hard pedaling. This is especially true in any uphill portions. Don't let the this intro completely discourage you from heading out on this trail. The downhill portions are a blast and the views are some of the best in the area.
Brewer Lake Campground
Located just over 40 miles northwest of Fargo is Brewer Lake Campground. This small, quiet, county run campground makes for an excellent weekend retreat. When the closest town has a population of only 29 people, you know you don't have to worry about being bothered.
Clausen Springs Recreation
The Clausen Springs Recreation Area is a 545 acre Wildlife Management area with a campground located about 5 miles south west of Kathryn, North Dakota. The main feature of Clausen Springs is Clausen Springs Lake. You'll also find trails, swimming beach, fishing, and hunting opportunities. The campground is open from May 1st through October 31st.
Eggerts Landing Coe Campground
Eggerts Landing COE Campground is a quiet and peaceful campground that is perfect for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The campground is located just a few miles north of Valley City, North Dakota, on Lake Ashtabula. The campground is operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and offers visitors a range of facilities and activities.
Governors RV Park
Governors RV Park is located in Casselton, North Dakota. This RV Park is a great option for those passing through to their final destination. Enjoy all the amenities of home while you're on the road!
Mel Rieman Recreation Area
Mel Rieman Recreation Area is located on Lake Ashtabula, just a few miles north of Valley City. This 70 acre camping facility is maintained by the Army Corp of Engineers. Paved roads, level campsites, and lake access are just a few of the features of this North Dakota Campground.
Moon Lake Campground
Located 11 miles southwest of Valley City, North Dakota sits Moon Lake Recreation Area and Campground. This small, quiet campground is a good spot for a quick afternoon stop, or a peaceful weekend get away. With few trees in the area, this rec area offers some great views of central North Dakota's rolling hills.
Municipal Tourist Park
Municipal Tourist Park is great for those who need a place to spend a night or two. Located near downtown Valley City, this campground might not look like much, but it has everything you'll need.
Dead Colt Creek Rec Area
Just a few miles south east of Lisbon, ND along the Dead Colt Creek is where you'll find this campground and recreation area. This campground is as good as it gets in central North Dakota. It is both beautiful and packed with amenities.
Fort Ransom State Park
This state park is rich in history, recreation, and views. Whether you'd like to hike along the 20 miles of trails, kayak down the Sheyenne River, or visit the Sunne Farm for a bit of history, Fort Ransom is sure to keep you entertained.
Little Yellowstone Campground
Little Yellowstone Campground is located a few miles southeast of Kathryn, North Dakota. The park is situated in the rolling hills of the Sheyenne River Valley. The mature timber, rolling hills, and small creek offer a very tranquil environment. This county run park is well maintained and offers all the amenities you'd expect for a comfortable stay.
Sandager Park
Sandager Park is located on the edge of Lisbon, North Dakota, right along the Sheyenne River. Campsites are limited but the near by activities certainly are not. Whether your stopping in for a night, or a long weekend, you'll be glad you stayed at Sandager Park.
